“Birla Mandir”
Mandir Refers to Temple, Birla Refers to the name of Family
most famously known as BIRLA’s
“Birla Mandir” are the series of temples built by the family
across India, as their Thanks giving to the lord; Birla’s have built almost 13
temples in different states of India, Starting from the year 1939 when they
first built Laxmi narayan Temple in Delhi
Birla Mandir’s [series of temples] are being built in
following states Delhi, Andhra Pradesh [Hyderabad], Kolkata, Kurukshetra ,
Shahad, Bits Pilani, Bhopal, Jaipur, Patna, Ulhasnagar, Akola , Varanasi, and
Nagda.
The initial start of the family started from the forefather Shri
Shiv Narain Birla, since then the legacy of Birla’s is still continuing in
Building the Temples, it’s a sentiment which prevails in the family stating if
they “Stop” building Temples there will all “Bad” things happening to them,
hence to continue it the construction of temples is always continuing Rather at
a slow pace.
The Most Important Factor to Note in the Construction of
Birla’s is all the Temples are ONLY BUILT IN WHITE MARBLE.
Birla Mandir – HYDERABAD
Birla Mandir is one of the prominent Temples which are built
by Birla’s in Hyderabad; it is built with around 2000 tons of White marble which
is sourced from Rajasthan complimented with the architecture as well.
It is being built on a Hill which is around 85 meters in
Height and was called as Naubat pahad in Hyderabad.
The Deities in the Temple are of “Lord Venkateshwara”
Goddess Padmavathi and Goddess Andal; The Granite used for the sculpture of
Lord Venkateshwara is around 11 Feet in height and is carved with the
architectural excellence of Indian Artists across the country.
The Temple was opened to the world in the year in 1976 by Swami
Ranganathananda, and temple is opened to everybody irrespective of Caste and creed.
