Arjuna’s Concentration!
Arjuna and his Concentration Power on Target!
Whenever it comes to Concentration Arjuna, the Hero of Mahabharata
is quoted as an example symbolizing the Concentration as power of human being
towards success.
Arjuna, one of the five brothers of Pandava’s is known as
the most excellent ARCHER in Mahabharata, and has played an important role
during the war between Kauravas’s in Kurukshetra.
There are many such examples all through the Mahabharata explaining
the concentration level of Arjuna, one such famous example quoted is of
Concentration of Arjuna towards dummy bird on Tree
Bird’s Eye on Tree: [Arjuna’s Target on Bird’s eye]
One fine day when Pandava’s & kaurava’s were being
trained under their guru Dronacharya
[Dronacharya was the common Guru for both Pandava’s and
Kaurava’s]
Master Dronacharya placed a Dummy bird on one of the top
last branch of the Tree to test the concentration power of his students, post
placing the dummy bird
Dronacharya Called the eldest one among the Kaurava’s the Duryodhana
asked what he can see on the Branch of the Tree other than Dummy Bird,
Duryodhana replied I can see the Sky Master!
Disappointed with answer given by Duryodhana, Guru Dronacharya
asked Duryodhana to leave the bow and arrow at the same place and asked him to step
aside and with the hope karna will answer better
Guru Called Karna and asks the same what he has asked
duryodhana and Karna Replies I Can see the Tree and leaves
Dronacharya further disappointed with the answer of Karna
and asks him to stand aside and called Arjuna and asked the same question on
what he can see apart from the bird.
Arjuna Answered stating “I can only the See the eye of the
Dummy Bird” [i.e. TARGET]
Arjuna Shooting Toy Bird on the Tree! |
Dronacharya: Impressed by the Answer of Arjuna, praised him
and appreciated his concentration on the Target and asked him to Shoot.
Moral: The Road to
Success Lies in the ability of Concentration towards your TARGET!
